Out of what I have time to read here so far, I think everyone is right. The sim rules state that we use third person and the use of /me to start the post. I personally have always embraced this, though I will skip the /me if starting with my name just does not make sense. ie: Having forgotten to do this or that Akira does and says stuff. Might…[Read more]

It’s nice to see someone being proactive in promoting this part of the sim RP. Unfortunately…Akira, let alone Huntress, would never work for you unless forced to do so. Not so hard with Akira, but Huntress could cause you some problems. And giggle maniacally while doing it.

This is one limit that bothers me a little as well. A few people on here know of a situation that nearly ran me right out of second life a couple years ago because of someone with such a limit. That said…when it’s a woman with this in their picks it’s often someone who has had men force themselves on them IRL or been harassed online by all the…[Read more]

I totally know how you feel Lina. I’ve had a couple IC relationships as well, one that ended so badly I nearly quit SL altogether but was thankfully held back by a few close friends. I remember crying for hours over this breakup so totally understand the need to express your feelings.

Yep, all the time lately. Just push through it.I often feel like deleting my post soon after posting, especially when everyone takes it in a way I didn’t mean and I wish I had just never posted it. I sometimes wish that I could just delete the whole thread and have nobody have even read my original post. This is why I have not posted anything…[Read more]

Ok, A couple points here that seem to continue to get missed, or ignored. I was never talking about random violence like,”hey, I think I want to do damage RH just for the heck of it.” I never do that. I might go into Pizza slut because Huntress is hungry and plans to walk out with “free” pizza, but she is not going to cause damage unless…[Read more]

After reading the responses here, I want to clarify a point or two about what I was saying, and share a realization that has occurred to me, though I really should have remembered this way sooner. I feel that some of the responses to my post felt angry. I meant offense to nobody in this.

So when I originally posted this thread, I was not…[Read more]

I was thinking about this again recently and thought I would share my thoughts here. I don’t think that you should need permission to cause damage (repairable) to a business. So far, Every time I have wanted to do anything to a business I have been told no and given reasons ranging from I’ve done that before so it doesn’t interest me to My…[Read more]

Yes, that is pretty much my big frustration. In the time I’ve been in DE almost everyone I know has recently left because they feel unwelcome. I’ve tried to be welcoming to everyone I meet, but it seems to not be enough. Even existing people on the sim who normally have no problem getting RP have commented that they felt this way when starting…[Read more]

First let me say that Deus, I have never seen you as part of the problem in what I’m about to say. The first night I met you ICly I did not like your role play and thought you were going to end up getting run out of town, but you learned quickly and really made a name for yourself. I also want to say that I think it’s great how you are always…[Read more]

While I love the name, “Do or Dye”, and how well that fits in with DE, I do have to point out that there seems little interest in one beauty parlor, let alone two. I agree completely with the IC need for one, but wonder how you will get players who don’t like to role play the minutia of their character’s lives and would much rather just wear the…[Read more]

I totally understand also what Ming is saying and her reason for leaving. I too have felt the pull of RL pulling me from DE much stronger than I used to. The sim has fundamentally changed since I started, both in the violence as stated above, and also the elitism, cliquishness, or whatever else you want to call it.

For those who feel that…[Read more]

@kyo – I agree that it helps a great deal to get a charismatic employee who is dedicated to your business. And I also agree that certain people in the sim draw people to them no matter where they are. I’m not going to go into my view on that particular issue here as nobody wants to believe it. The problem for some of us, is that we don’t have that…[Read more]

Having been trying ((not so successfully) to run Club Marcello for over a year, this thread is something I have thought about a lot. I agree that it would be nice if people would move their RP around a bit. I think routine is the biggest killer of “small” businesses. For example…For those who like to hang out with their friends and drink, why…[Read more]
