Recently I posted about me having some health problems and not getting a grip on roleplaying anymore, during the time out of SL and DE I reflected on this (the roleplay lull) and sadly I am typing this post to say I am going to leave Deadend, it doesn't feel like the SL home it once used to be anymore.
Deadend has changed, lately it changed quite fast. DE used to be a kidnap/BDSM sim but lately it has turned into a roleplay sim on which raw violence, pure sadism, fighting, baseball bats, knives, etc. are dominating the rp and I am not feeling comfortable with it. It is just not my kind of roleplay.
The subtlety is gone, gang wars and fights are the theme now, I tried to maintain a balance between that and my own rp (which is more based on...let me use the word again, subtle criminal rp, kidnapping, etc.) but whichever rp I started or continued, I was always pulled in relentless fighting with such a force that mutilation seemed to be preferred. this didn't happen only occasionally (which I wouldn't mind at all) but it is now more standard than exception.
And I simply don't feel comfortable with the way DE is heading to. It is getting more and more a spin-off of CD with the gang wars dominating the streets and the storylines.
I am not saying it is wrong for Deadend to head in that direction, after all, if this is the roleplay preferred by most of the players, by all means, the focus should be on that. But the current rp has made me drifting away from it, it is time for Ming to leave. I know this is kind of abrupt but as I mentioned already, health issues play a part in this decision too. For the sake of rp and the ongoing storylines ( Meite, Bean and Pagan being Ming's children ) I would like to suggest Ming having returned to Hong Kong to re-unite with her family.
I want to thank you all for the awesome rp I had with you over the years I spent rp-ing in DE and having helped me developing Ming as a character, Who knows, maybe we'll meet again, someday in the far future.
But for now it is farewell.
