Recently, Heartofwar submitted a proposal for a European restaurant in Dead Drop. This is not about his proposal, but some of the responses that said, "Yeah, it would be great to have a nice restaurant instead of just Asian diner and bar food. This is very frustrating to me because the restaurant he wants to run already exists physically in Dead Drop, though it's currently Italian, and sits empty most of the time. I put it there precisely for having an upscale eating environment, hoping someone would come and run it and make it popular. Felinda has been trying, but like my club, it's nearly impossible to pull people out of the square unless for an event being run by someone popular on the sim. (the clique) Recently, I hosted two events at Club Marcello, both for members of the "in crowd". I saw so many people there who had never set foot in the club before, and so far, have not since. They came as much for the person throwing the event as for the event itself. My point here is not to bitch about the clique as I've given up on trying to change it, (and become a bit of an outcast in the process) but to point out that if you want something, eg the nice restaurant or a nice dance club, you need to support it when it exists, because it wont exist for long if you don't.

On a related note, Club Marcello may be going away very soon. I just can't afford to keep it going by myself, and nobody seems interested in helping to keep it going, either by working, hanging out, or donating. I currently have 4 days left on my land fee, and I will have to spend the rest of the Lindens I have to just buy the club one more week to sit there empty.

So what should I do here? Should I just give up the land and remove the club? Should I convert it into a larger nice restaurant? What will get people to show up?
