Apple Fool's Martini

.75 oz Simple syrup
5 Fresh basil leaves
1.5 oz Don Julio Blanco Tequila
.5 oz Green Chartreuse
1 oz Ruby red grapefruit juice
.75 oz Lime juice
Thin apple slice or maraschino cherry

Muddle the simple syrup and basil leaves in a shaker before adding the rest of the ingredients, filling with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass, and garnish with an apple slice or a maraschino cherry.
