Keira Kowalski used to be a sweet, loving girl. She was born and raised in New York City by her family who cared very much about her. Her dad was a true American while her mom was born in Croatia and moved to America at the age of 25. At the age of 16 Keira met "the love of her life". Her parents did not accept him and when Keira and the boy both turned 18 they ran away and were planning to get married. A few weeks before their wedding Keira got a phone call from a friend who told her the boy got involved in a gang fight and had passed away after being shot. This event turned Keira from the cute, loving girl she was into a total mess. She tried to go back to her parents who at first accepted her but when they found out she was now dealing with an alcohol addiction they sent her away to rehab.

As Keira sat on a bench, waiting for the bus to come and take her to the rehab her parents had found for her she realized that this was just a waste of time. The person she used to be died along with the man she loved and she was never going to be her old self. Throwing the directions to the rehab in a trashcan, Keira got on the next bus and decided to go wherever it took her. Dead End was the answer.

She now spends her time wandering the streets of Dead End. The one thing she isn't able to understand is why she's getting strange flashbacks of things that have never happened: blood on her hands, her boyfriend dead on the ground in front of her. She hadn't even been there when he died, or was her mind playing tricks on her?
