Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I had a question and I was hoping someone around here could help me out here.

How do I get people to RP with me?

A friend of mine and myself have tried on many occasions (separately) to come to your sim and participate in RP. We approach people, wait for them to post a few times to get a sense of the scene, and then try to join in. Other times we have just created our own scene, and have had the people around carry on as if we do not exist.

For example, I spent quite a while RPing in the Icky Quickie Shop that I was angry and throwing cans of meat at the windows, and cursing at the top of my lungs. There were a couple of people right next door RPing, and I waited for everyone to post in turn before making any of my posts, so as not to run over them. I even went outside and threw a can of meat at the window of the place they were RPing in.

I didn't get a single reaction. Not even an RP acknowledgement that they heard some crazy person and chose to ignore it.

My friend has had similar experiences as I have (I didn't even know she'd been visiting Dead End until I brought up my story to her). She said the only time anyone in DE acknowledged her was once, via IM to tell her that her avi was hot.

I'm not sure what it is I'm doing wrong, here. I've tried several different approaches, from trying to join in with already moving scenes, starting my own scenes, heck, even just trying to introduce myself to people ICly. I just get completely ignored.

I'm not a bad RPer, I know how to emote, and what the theme and tone of the sim is. I spent a couple of days reading everything before I even stepped foot in the IC area of the sim. I've RPed in other sims in SL, too. I'm wondering if there is something specific about this sim that I'm not getting? What is the barrier I need to breach to be able to join in?

In all honesty, I had been ready to give up trying, and leave the groups, but after speaking to my friend, we both agreed that we really love how organized everything seems to be at Dead End, and how very roleplay focused it is.

So, I'm asking... what should I do to be a part of things in DE?

(And I'm sorry if this post came off as very negative, I don't mean to be, I honestly just want to know what I can do to be a part of things. It's a great sim, and the RPs I've seen have been really nice!)
