Faerie LindleysaidDATE: 07/15/13 PROPOSAL BY: IrClaire Resident GROUP NAME: Close Encounters TYPE: Comic and Costume Store SLURL: Teleport BACKSTORY: Close Encounters would be a comic book and costume store aiming to provide a hangout for casual and more relaxed roleplay. Though the costumes can be used and abused for criminal activities the main aim of the store is to give a spark of humour and mischief to Dead end. With a plan to host regular events such as costume contests and quizzes among the customers. The aim is to create a new-player friendly environment to get used to the pace of Dead End or a place to take a relaxed break from the hustle and bustle of violence. The store is coming from Al’s childhood dream to own her own Comic and Costume store, always wanting an excuse to dress up. The downstairs area I plan to make the main shop area with the till and merchandise while making the upper floor lounge type area with vending machines for people to talk and meet. The will aim to welcome everyone with the shared interest of comic books and the world of dressing up, the back area of the shop to sell some more adult themed costumes. The overall aim is to make a place for mild humour, adventure and a tad of nerdiness for anyone to relax in. UNIQUE: In Dead End I found a lack of hang out spots that were not either bars or cafes. I felt a Comic book store would suit many of the characters around Dead end that take a natural interest in the wonderful world of comics, costumes and video games. It would be a place simply for characters to hang out and have an explanation to where they got their costumes and strange bits and bobs. It also has the benefit of bringing more humour to Dead end with costume contests and other crazy events involving the strange hidey hole that would be Close Encounters. Themed races around the city, quizzes, riddles and trying to convince the drunks that they’re not superman is all apart of the fun.[Not to mention staff being dressed as your favorite heros!] EXP:Though I am relatively new to Second life I’ve been roleplaying for around eight years online. I have lead role play guilds and events on MMOs such as World of Warcraft and Star Wars before moving to settle down in Second life. I’m experienced in organising events with other people and on my own for groups of 20+ people and have a great deal of love of communicating with others. I love meeting new people OOCly and ICly, meaning helping new players slowly get into the swing of Dead End and the surrounding Sims in a safe environment. IDEAS:As I’ve mentioned in other posts I’m teeming with ideas for events the store could hold and promote around Dead End. Not only do these events have to simply be run by the store, teaming up with other businesses to create large scale events would be amazing. I hope to make easy accessible events and a very opening environment so that anyone can join in the roleplay, while keeping the atmosphere calm and drama free. OTHER: I’m a massive fan of comic books, games and figures myself so I feel I have an advantage on knowing the trade in which my character will be involved it. I feel I can offer fresh ideas after years of experience in other games and forms of role play and hopefully give something to the more casual and quieter roleplayers on sim. |
