BACKSTORY: I have been working on aspects of the Cult for several years now. It was once approved but due to some Rl issues when it was required to resubmit factions for approval I did not feel the group was strong enough. It was placed on the back burner for some time while I focused on other things. I kept it to personal RPs, and such, as I tried to flesh it out some through exploration. I was ready to submit, or just about when this new system was announced, it gave me some more time to think things over and feel out the RP of it. Additionally I held off while I waited for other groups I’m involved in to get moving not wanting too much in start up at the same time. Dion has always believed that women are a lesser form of person, and takes joy in tormenting them. While he was on a trip in South America tracking down someone that screwed him in a business deal, he tried an iawkaska like brew. His hunt brought him out of the cities and into the bush. There he found a village ruled over by a cruel shaman who seemed to use torture to control his flock. Not being able to speak the language or his guides lack of willingness to translate much of what the shaman told him, he was never sure why this old spindly man gave him the brew to drink. The vision he had impacted him, and at first he thought it was just a really powerful trip, but then he realized he could use what he saw as a fantastic way to torment his prey. At first that’s all it was to him, just a new game he could play on his victims to fill them with fear. One of the things he used to instill this fear was a cocktail of narcotics and hallucinogenics, some of which where contact effective. Maybe because of his already unstable mind, or the repeated accidental exposure to the hallucinogenics, he has started to believe what he tells his victims, and followers. The Dogma he created is a mishmash of various things he has picked up over the years. Though it draws heavily on satanic trapments and ways there are some very Nietzshen elements to the belief structure. the core structure of the Cult is that Morality is a farce, one propagated by whom he calls the Lier. the lier being of course the christian God. though he does not just single him out. any religion that has a list of thou shalt nots falls into the same camp. Basicly any religion that claims there is some high moral guidelines to live by to him is a lie. the only truth is that there is no good or evil right or wrong. there is only the will and the power to seize what one wants from the world. Some of the cults practices include, Rape, torture, enslavement, murder, ritual sacrifice, and cannibalism. The only thing that is a ‘crime’ is damaging another Baron’s(or Lilitu’s) property. Revenge is a tenement that must be observed. The cult will follow a cell like structure. each circle and cell will only know the true identities of those in their cell/circle. When the cells gather only codenames will be used and identities will be hidden behind masks. The world has forgotten this... it must be shown the light. There are rare women that have the will and essence to stand apart from the slaves, the Daughters of Lilith. As there are the rare Men who do not have the will or essence to be free, the Sons Able. Adherents believe that their God is real and have given his Son (Bedlamb/Dion) Magical Powers. In the RP Magic is only as real as it is in RL. Some Meat has been too corrupted by the Lie, propagated by Jehovah and his followers, and must be recycled After educating his victims properly, and if he has no use for them in his household, or want to keep them, he will likely sell them to another or even contact a local auction and sell them there. The ranking structure for the cult is as follows: Formal Ranks and group roles; Son of Belial: The Lord Bedlamb is the one true prophet and Messiah, he is the flesh born Son of the God Demon Belial. Archon of Belial: They are both religious rulers and leaders of men. They are second only to the Son of Belial. Circle heads will be of this Rank. Prelate of Belial: They are those who spread the word and teachings of Belial to the masses; through words or through the holy rites of torture. They're task in the eyes of the Belial are to convert the unenlightened to the truth and guide them into the light. They will be the public face once we reach phase two. Adherent of Belial (Adherent): Not only the catchall term for members of the cult, all despite ranking are Adherents, it is the highist rank a non practicing member of the group can reach. This is the default untagged member level. These are internal rankings and have no effect on tagging they are merely there for internal structure and RP guidance: Son of Cain (Baron): This is the basic role for male members. They rule their household and any property they have. Any crime against their property, Meat, or holdings is a crime against them. They are named after Cain and not Adam beacuse Adam abandoned his right to rule when he took on the Lier’s path. His son Cain was the first to reclaim this right and is honored as such. Bride of Belial: Holy Mothers who have born or bare a child consecrated in the name of Belial. While they are with Child they are given a privileged status. Still Meat they are above the other Meat and their torments should be kept from the extreme while they are with child. Daughter of Lilith (Lilitu): Daughters of Lilith these rare creatures are women of power. Though they are still below men they are allowed to walk and speak their mind as long as they remember their place beneath men. They are not their Demonic mother but are allowed some rights. Demon Host (Doll): Those that have had the Spirit of a Demon in service to the God Belial subsumed and hosted in them. Or should I say brainwashed and drugged to believe this. Schizophrenics, those with multiple-personality-disorder, or those similarly afflicted are often seen as Dolls. there was a time that such a disorder was attributed to being possessed by evil spirits even by mainstream ‘medical’ professionals Son of Able (Meat): Men that have been polluted with the weakness of Able and are best fit to serve as Meat serves and should be treated as Meat in all ways. Daughter of Eve (Meat): These are female Servants to the glory of Belial. They must obey the words and commands of all above them. And all are above Meat. Indoctrinated members of the Cult are given code names, usually the name of a Demon or old god. I have also started working on a selection of ‘holy’ texts for the Cult... the first of which I posted as a blog entry on the forums, I would include it again here but this is already getting quite long and will reproduce it on the forum if asked during peer review. I will be reposting this shortly and hope to add more such entries in the near future. Over time the conflict with the Lier’s illk has grown within Dion. He has reached a point where he wants to strike back at them. He has decided the the time for action is at hand. With the Cults actions in the city/sim I will try to follow a three part plan. Phase one; At this stage I will focus on recruitment. Gathering and expanding as much as I can. I will attempt to use a cell model during this phase. Members won’t necessarily know who each other are except those they are immediately working with. I intend to have gatherings of the members from time to time, which I will talk more about below. during this phase I expect there will be some minor actions, mostly centered around keeping the authorities busy, gathering information and infiltrating other areas. Phase two; At this phase I would like to give the cult a public appearance. maybe open up a chapel or something. a public place where Dion could recruit for his flock. Proselytizing a watered down version of what he believes before he thinks the individual is ready then putting the screws to them hard. Phase three; this is when I would like to do some larger events, all working with sim admins along the way. the extent of these things are really up to the administration. But Arson, bombing, attempted murder of ranking city officials, or any other actions that sole function is to cause chaos and destruction.

UNIQUE: I think a Cult that kidnaps and brainwashes women into thinking that they are nothing but property for the use and abuse of men fits in wonderful. I would like to work with other businesses and factions in town that have similar objectives. Increasing the underworld network, so it not just one or two players in the game. I have also considered in time opening a church in town, to be the public face of the cult. By doing so I could preach to the denizens of the city about the lie.

FLAW: Excluding the assured fact taht this Clut will make many an enemy a it spreads it word through rape and torture. there is an inherent anarchistic and nihilistic strain to the group that will cause repeated run ins with the law and despite efforts to remain low key will clearly draw attention to the Cult quickly. fanatics, and Dion tries to make them, are not quite about what they believe. Despite efforts to be stealthful and subtle, a hammer is not a discrete tool

POTENTIAL ENEMY: Considering the fact that Dead End is an Urban Noir forced fantasy Sim, the cult is perfect for the town. Also it being a homegrown organization, born and based solely in DE, makes it more tied to the community and its participants would go to great lengths to protect and preserve their small town. I would like to add quickly that I have been working with this idea for some time now. It is something that Dion keeps hidden behind all of his other activities. His business is a recruiting post, and his gangland activities is used as a cover for his random random recruitment drives.

EXP:I have been Role playing in DE on and off, for over four years. I also have experience helping newcomers get acquainted with DE. Additionally I have been role-playing for nearly twenty years now, so I'm familiar with the gig. I have also played a variety of pen and paper, online, and even live action.

IDEAS:Helping other factions that are so inclined bring back the auctions to town, while providing a twisted and corrupt faith for those that are inclined to it may follow.
