last night i finished my week at the Dark Room. Here are my thoughts.

1) again, having staff in there brought people down, some regs, some new people.

2) The Dark Room has a nice build, good seating and it just seems nicer than lulus or the 8s. all in all its a nice bar.

3) The theme of the bar both helps it get business and hinders it. Some folks said they dont drink there because they dont want to watch sex, but people also came specifically hoping to see it. All in all the theme doesnt so much hurt or help the bar as allows it to have a distinct character, which is a good thing.

4) it does suffer a small amount from its location. Not as much as people might think, but the RLD is hard to access from most places in sim. I am not entirely sure what the usefulness of makign the RLD remote and difficult to access is. While that does make the RLD feel like a distinct rp space, separate from the rest of the city, I am not convinced that the small benefit derived from that equals the detraction stemming from its inaccessibility.

I'm also not sold on the notion of the RLD in general. It seems to run sort of counter to the sim theme. Kidnapping, reluctance, that sort of thing. The imposition of a strong will on your prey, the illicit thrill of submitting to a superior force... having a place devoted to consensual sex seems almost... less dirty than the rest of the city?

Anyway, that's my take away from my week there.
