AnonymoussaidWell I've been having some issues with people lately, might be my temper at times ((yes I'm aware and as many may know, I'm working on that)) but I don't believe it to be a coincidence that almost every time these players are tagless drifters. Of which I don't really mind in any personal way, when I notice them making effort to RP, I usually give them a friendly IM and give them the LM so they can go through the registration process - if they plan on staying -. My concern lays with those drifters that roam our fair town to rape / murder / assault / steal / ... and hide behind the fact they are not actually DE members so they cannot face the consequences of their actions. My personal vision is that a action desires a re-actions, which simply means as much as if you rape - and you want to keep the sim realistic - there should be a cop on the other end to try and find you. Given the reality raping one person usually doesn't mean you'll get caught, not in real life, not in Dead End. Same for other crimes really (with the exception of murder perhaps, but then again old Izzy got away with murder 3 times and one attemped). There are in fact several of these drifters that refuse to register their character who prey on newbees who obviously have a lot to learn when it comes to rp'in. I've noticed that from the hospital and now I notice this in the shelter as well, the fact that these players make it to the hospital or the shelter is to me an indiciation that they are willing to progress and build up a storyline, only to see it pinched by a random person who obviously just was out for one thing. The effort these people -drifters- put in their RP is often, forgive my words, inadequate. I believe these people should be motivated to create a storyline for their character, be involved in the town and make STRONGER and BETTER bad guys/girls. I've been reading the concerns about the bad guys in DE and I must say I don't feel like they are in a minority, but most of them are simply too easy to find. I love people like Jack and many others I won't mention, to prevent metagaminng ((I just know Jack isn't a secret)). They bring DE to entire other level, the organization of cults -like for example M9L- is admirable and I'm sure this will bring much, much more RP fun in the future, together with - I'm sure - plenty of other factions and businesses that will arise. My wish is that these drifters also get a chance to participate in this and are motivated to spend some time to establish a character and respect the fact that within a vast role play community as Dead End is, actions do have consequences. I wish that starting RP'ers with the heart at the right place don't get preyed on by these people before they can get introduced to 'established' characters. Not too long ago I started RP and I'm aware that I'm still a newbee myself, but I've had the luck that I've been preyed on as a newbee myself ((thank you for that MJ ๐ )). She introduced me to RP and our RP gave me a starting base to work with, from which point I saw my character make drastic changes and twists I really wouldn't have called looking back to it. I'm feeling like I'm exagerating here a little, so I'm going to finish my nonsense. The point that I'd want to make is that each and everyone of us benifits if EVERY person in Dead End has a tag above their head that starts with 'DE'. And of course... If I'm not mistaking, it should be in the SIM rules. |
