Shade was a shithead to say the least.. but she tried to make it better by becoming a paramedic. She grew up in a poor family of Irish immigrants.. The neighborhood she grew up in was almost all Irish Gypsy and her best friends were either first generation Irish like her or fresh off the boat.. She grew up in camps and on the road. This was still of course before he was a she.. She was a gypsy bare knuckle fighter and it mad her tough.. .She wasn't happy though and eventually went against her Irish Traveler upbringing and went into school to be a paramedic. It didn't work out so well for the at that time guy. Drunk and depressed he, at the time started to boost cars for the kicks... The kicks landed him a spot in Bad Boys Correctional facility..

During his time in bad boys he started to do his transformation into a she.. She had pills smuggled into the prison while she herself worked on becoming a Trustee.. upon earning her trustee status she got her own hormones and started to make money by doing odd jobs for the Warden... Including working in the prison's hospital. She legally changed her name to Shade, and started her transformation into a woman heavily..

After several months of work as a trustee, and running the prison's operations in prostitution, and weapons smuggling Shade was taken to the Warden's office where he offered her guard status as a condition of her parole..

She took it and started to plan for her future the Warden liked Shade's mannerisms and quickly promoted her to Deputy Warden where she stayed until the state shut down the facility..

Her severance pay payed for her sex change, and kept her going so she could get a degree in journalism.. She started working at the Dead End Daily shortly afterwards..

Shade also has one green glass eye from a fight she lost in the prison, which does not match her normal blue eye.. She doesn't consider it a weakness.. Other injuries long term.. Steel rods in her hand and arm from getting it curb stomped when she was an inmate.. Stabbing scar on her right side just below her breast...

Things she has been known to carry: Lock picking kit almost always on her person.. Hunting knife almost always carried...A side Handled Police baton when things get collapsible version in her bag.. Mag-light flashlight... Handcuffs... Notebook and pen... Makeup.. Swiss Army knife... Pack of Cheap cigs.. Worn Zippo lighter.. Droid Cell Phone.. Around 100 bucks cash hidden in her glove, bracers, or in her shoe..
