xelan morgathsaidWe are closing our faction after 18 months. We started out as a very small group of thieves, concentrated around the pawn shop. We end with five businesses and 12 members as one of the large factions in DE. So why stop if it turned out to be so successful? The numbers do not reflect the reality. It's been many weeks since we had any real faction roleplay. We keep ourselves busy with internal storylines, often using alts to fill the void. Quite a few of our members hardly come online anymore. The reason is mainly the dwindling numbers of players active on sim. There are hardly any businesses or people around to rob and plunder. And even if we commit crimes there is no police to investigate and pursue us. We also are missing faction interaction. The plan is to close the Pawns as an organization (which has already been put in effect), but we will remain active in a much smaller form. I am giving up the pawn shop but I am keeping the escort business. Ming will still run her restaurant in the Asian district and Misha is keeping the Jade. This will result in a kind of unofficial Dragon triad of three Yheng businesses, the Wild Dragon, the Hung Dragon and the Jade Dragon. Brooklyn's restaurant the Cloister will likely also be part of this business to business cooperation. Leighanne will remain active in the hospital of course, as will Princess. Needless to say they remain linked to the Yheng family, but there won't be a Pawn tie anymore. I feel very sad about giving up the Pawns. I have very good memories of it all and some of it has been absolutely amazing. I feel very thankful to those who helped me turn this into a success, none of it would have been possible without you. I also feel very thankful to all those who were not pawns themselves but have always been open minded and ready to play with us, offering storylines or responding to our storylines. Again, none of this could have happened without you. And it's because of this that I am not leaving DE and will try to find new directions to have fun as a roleplayer in our sim, but hopefully in a much more relaxed way. |
