Kari hails from a port city further north. Young and pretty, she tries to be sparkling and always the life of the party. More often than not, however, you can find her passed out, needle still hanging from her arm in an alley or some dealer's house. Kari excels in singing and dancing when she's up to it, and one day she wants to be a star bigger than Madonna ever was. But life keeps getting in the way.
Born to Karl and Mary Aybara, Kari has an older brother, Sam, who left when she was only ten to make his fortune. Her mother died shortly thereafter, leaving Kari defenseless against her alcoholic father, who abused her with ever growing violence until she finally broke down and ran.
Since her first attempt at escape at the age of 17, she's run countless times. Now, though, Sam has finally given up trying to keep her in their home city where his old class mates can watch her. Convinced he can stay away no longer, he's retired to the nowhere town of dead drop to look after her his delinquent, junkie sister in hopeful obscurity. He d pays for her things and stays in her rundown house with her, noticably refusing to pay with anything other than cash, or to list his name on anything. Kari has has also noticed his shady phone calls in the middle of the night from "old co workers", though she doesn't say anything about it- not even when he's scolding her for her habit and she feels like the shakes are going to kill her for real.
She doesn't care. So long as there's music and horse and someplace warm to be, she doesn't care about anything. And she almost never says no.
