Circus Maximus
By rhythmwizard resident

TYPE: Street Gang

MEMBERS: irclaire resident, xhex darkfire

BACKGROUND: This faction represents the amalgamation of the Dead Rabbits and the Static Bandits. Post Bean's expensive and erratic assaults upon Dead End, the Irish backers of the rabbits, who wish to maintain an interest in the city have decided to put their faith in someone else, someone who they consider to be a more stable criminal influence… Uncle Bob and the Static Bandits. The two factions, despite occasional disagreements, have largely been allies throughout the time that they have coexisted, and so shifting focus to the Bandits is regarded as a fairly safe move. However, given that this represents a new venture, it is considered important to cut ties with the past and form a new faction, rather than creating the perception that one gang took over the other. Furthermore, given the strong sense of identity that the members of each faction have, it is similarly necessary to adopt a new name in order to overcome any sense of damaged pride that might arise from joining a rival faction. So whilst this is a new faction, the members and the games from which it is born have a rich history in Dead End, and will continue in much the same manner they have done previous, taking over the supply of drugs into the city that was previously the mainstay of the Rabbits income, as well as the focus upon expanding territorially and influence that was the goal of both factions when they existed as separate entities

UNIQUE: There are three businesses that will operate as the fronts for the new faction, the Arcade and the rabbits salvage yard, just as they were fronts for the Dead Rabbits, and of course the Darkroom, which is acting as a front for the Static Bandits. People within the gang and dealing with us, should expect a high standard of role-play, and should expect to be part of an active faction, sending people out in order to interact with nonmembers and involved the general community in gang related activity. The idea is to create an inclusive environment, and use the faction as a medium through which a lot of role-play and Produced for the city.

FLAW: there are a couple of flaws that will be a part of this faction. Firstly, it can be expected that the bringing together of two rival gangs will create a tense atmosphere at times. Those previously accustomed to working against each other will now have to find a way to cooperate. Secondly, as has always been the problem with the Dead Rabbits and the Static Bandits it is a case of accommodating the anarchistic individualism that has defined both gangs at different times in their respective histories and then finding a way to cooperate in order to achieve greater goals, there are a couple of loose cannons in the group and as such it can be expected that things were not always go to plan, this will similarly become a problem when some of the personalities within the faction disagree and clash. Furthermore, given some of the reputations of the members, it is likely that this is a faction that will constantly have to deal with a high level of police surveillance and scrutiny.

POTENTIAL ENEMY: Obvious potential enemies, the syndicate, the police force, and unknown how the new faction will interact with the HELLCATS, the Bandits being allies with them all sorts and the Rabbits, as a consequence of Bean's interaction with them, being enemies. It is also the ambitions of this action to incorporate lots of businesses, set up as fronts either voluntarily or involuntarily selling drugs on behalf of the faction, there will also be emphasis upon making the red light district the territory of this gang.

EXPERIENCE: I have been role-playing in Dead End for over a year now, and during that time I believe I have established a reputation as a fair and inclusive player. I have been lead at the Dark room for several months now and during that time I think successfully managed to grow the business as well as being a strong leader for the staff who work there. Furthermore, I have been lead of the faction the Static Bandits for a couple of months, and during that time but I have grown membership as well as creating stories and leading a gang that has been very active during that time. Playing fair with the police force, as well as trying to just cause trouble in general.

IDEAS: Given that this is a faction, new members will be required to prove that they are worthy of joining, not only through ic activities, but also by being responsible members of the role-playing community within Dead End.

OTHER: Obvious potential enemies, the syndicate, the police force, and unknown how the new faction will interact with the HELLCATS, the Bandits being allies with them all sorts and the Rabbits, as a consequence of Bean's interaction with them, being enemies. It is also the ambitions of this action to incorporate lots of businesses, set up as fronts either voluntarily or involuntarily selling drugs on behalf of the faction, there will also be emphasis upon making the red light district the territory of this gang.
