I've had a long think about how Jail works in DE. Now I'm not saying the max 72 hrs should change by anyway. Unless you decide to spend more time than that in jail no one should be forced to stay longer. But still I find it hard wrapping my head around a multiple murder somehow only sitting in a city jail for three days and the slate being wiped clean.

So heres how I look at it.
Dead End is a corrupt, underfunded, and just a flat out mess of a city. So when my char who was found next to a gutted person covered in their blood walks out of jail after just three days I look at it like he made bail, or somehow the case got dropped. Dropped through bribes, bad police procedures, lost evidence, or plan old incompetence. It may because the arresting or investigating officers somehow dropped the ball, but it could just be that some NPC clerk accidentally delete the file or some other form of inept work on the NPC bureaucracy side of things.

Now so in my mind until I go though a RP court proceeding, something I have been trying to get ta work with the DA's office for sometime now, Dion has an arrest record, but no convictions.

We have a whole group in the courts that gets ignored, and that is so sad. They even got their own big ass building for it, but I can only think of a handful that went before a judge.

Don't fear getting a char sent off to a prison because of a hearing with a judg either. Personally my plan, when it happens, will be to play a different char on this same avi I been wanting to bring to town for ages now. Think of it as a chance to play someone different that you have had screaming or scratching at the inside of your skull, or just spend more time on that alt you wish you had more time for.

If a bit of a vacation isn't your thing, there are other options. After court you could always opt for probation. I've seen that one played out, and it added a lot of drama and fun for the person that played it out. We shouldn't forget community service as well. There are plenty of RP options that can come out of a court appearance.

Regardless of how you decide to approach this, this is how I look at it. It works for me. It may not work for you and thats cool.
