The Pawns are a faction that revolves around property crimes. Stealing and fraud, that's the name of our game. And we're very good at it, as crime rates have soared over the last months without a lot of Pawns ending up in prison. So far we often manage to slip away into the dark.
You might expect that being successful gets us a lot of candidates, people who are eager to join such a busy group of roleplayers. But somehow the opposite is true. It is very hard to find potential new Pawns. We think this is partly because there are some expectations out there that are misconceptions about what we do.
- Some people think we are a very closed group - but we are not. Becoming a Pawn is actually very easy and we're openminded about who we allow into our group.
- Some people assume they'd have to be working in the Pawn Shop to become a Pawn. This is also not true. There are many professions if not all that make property crimes possible.
- Some people think that being part of the Pawns means you'd lose freedom and a resulting loss of roleplay potential. This is also not true. What binds Pawns together is the philosophy that anything needed can be taken. We look out for each other, but Pawns can move on their own as well and very often heists are performed by individuals or very small teams. Sharing your profit with others might sound stupid, but others also share it with you, so you're never without resources. Also being part of a larger group means you often have roleplay potential even when there doesn't seem much going on. So it's a win-win situation (both IC and OOC) I'd say.
So how to become a Pawn? Well, we're all over the place so it should be easy to find us. The place we're mostly concentrated is of course the Pawn Shop, so come sell us some stolen goods and you're bound to get noted by us.
Hope to see you around soon.
