BACKSTORY: I've been working with newcomers in town for quite a while, both IC'ly and OOC'ly trying to guide them into the right direction to make their character a part of the life in dead end. The job agency is a second step for this. Business owners would be able to sign up with the Job Agency after filling out two forms... one official, one let's say just that little bit less official. The official form contains the basic information of both the business and the type of employee they require. Of course being Dead End, any business has their own little agenda in town they could use help with. Unite will be there to support the businesses in both directions. The more open a business is with the agency, the easier it becomes to help them. Unite will provide a more open form that is kept strictly off the record for the business to add their hidden agenda, what they really require need help with. This could range from looking for long term employees to do dirty work like information gathering and running for their business to one time hits with their own (or here's the fun part... another person's) business as a cover up. To ensure the business which hires Unite of the best possible service, Aisha -as a psychiatrist- provides psyche evaluations and forms for anyone signing up with the agency. These forms are made strictly to give an idea of the character's personality and capababilities. Officially everything is of course a matter of placing the right person in the right business, unofficially it is the agency's way of covering itself against 'foreign' threats. The agency will provide training sessions with people registring for a job. These sessions can include self defense ((read: combat training)), management courses ((read: manipulation)), Information handling ((read: spy 101)). These courses are made for 2 reasons: A) Give the character a realistic background of it's skills through training B) Ensure 'fair play'. Considering the training will actually happen as OOC sessions, it'll allow me -and Agency management- to help prevent both powergamging and metagaming. We will be clear, very clear both IC'ly and OOC'ly that there is zero tolerance for this kind of play. Last, the agency will be looking at different factions for help and support. Like bribing the PD for official protection and the hiring of other factions for more 'unofficial' protection. I'm sure this will only add to the role play in Dead End

UNIQUE: I think there simply isn't a single business offering what Unite would offer for the town. On a first base, the main idea is really created to help new players establish their character in town and even OOC'ly offer (be it rather limited) RP training on various fields to enhance their experience in Dead End. On a second base it is there to help businesses find new people for their (dirty) jobs. And last... I believe it may bring a whole new rp of extortion, blackmail, ... to town and encourage more crime to happen.

EXP:I've been around Dead End for quite a while and I haven't bothered to look for another place to RP. I know the way the town and appreciate the thought and effort the staff puts in to keep it a great place for RP. Those who have worked with me / had to IM me with more unpleasant stuff know I'm someone who doesn't care for making up stories but rather give all the information and leave the judging up to them. In a similar way I will handle this business and the proposal, to ensure being able to spend the amount of time with it as is necessary I'm ending my storyline as a DEPD officer and will focus on building Unite. I love working with people, both in an IC and OOC context. I'm Belgian, which basically means as much as I'm a person of compromises. I believe there is always an outcome that is acceptable for both parties and I aim to achieve that outcome at all times. In RL I'm trained in conflict management and various types of leadership programs. Skills I'm able to use to resolve issues that can (and let's face it, most likely will) occur while running a business. While I aim to prevent drama, I also aim to resolve it in a positive way.

IDEAS:The core idea of the business is built to enhance rp for the community and newcomers in specific. The OOC training functions to help ensure fair play and at the very least inform the employees of the etiquettes each DE RP'er has to follow and why it is so important to give good thought to it. For events, a Job Agency is pretty limited with possibilities. Thing I've been thinking of doing: 1) A job fair, provide a day & location for businesses to promote themselves and the unemployed to find a job 2) Group training sessions. For example 'firefighting' would be a possibility, Unite could hire an experienced firefighter to provide training to potential firefighters in order for them to save all of our asses if Dead End gets lit up on fire.
