GROUP NAME: Turn the Page

TYPE: Book Store/Library

BACKSTORY: I plan on opening up the store and bringing in a couple of librarians. Business like most businesses will start out slow, to help speed up the process I plan on bringing in a lot of the writings and books myself until others contribute to the library's inventory. This idea came to me through comments from other players, they always told me that I could write a book. I have a lot of writings I gathered and kept from college. I figured well why not, let's write a book then! I thought it would be neat to open up an "Adult" section of the book store for Erotic fiction and non fiction books.

UNIQUE: Turn the Page will be interactive, it will allow players to create content and share stories/Information with other players in character. All NC's that will be used in the form of books in character will be reviewed before being put out for just anyone to see of course. There will be roles such as Authors, Publishers and Editors. Unlike the paper, these writing will not be pertaining specifically to news or events but to detailed stories, works of fiction/non fiction.

EXP:I have been role playing in Dead End for about five years now. In those five years I learned a lot about how to encourage and promote good role play. In real life I am in college for Business Administration and I thought it would be neat to apply what I have learned in college so a business in Second Life.

IDEAS:I have thought about ways to encourage "RP" and attract customers in character. Through the use of notecards, players choosing to play the role as authors can write short stories, plots etc. which they could display in the book store for people to rent. Not only would this give people the opportunity to really get involved but this will let them reflect on their work and share it with others. Good pieces of writings made available through the book store will encourage good "RP" etiquette. Because DE Is an Erotic sim, what's hotter then a sexy book keeper reaching for the book on that top shelf!

OTHER:Nothing in the book store is for sale OOC'ly, all books are available to everyone and anyone that comes into the shop to rent them or buy them in character. It will be really neat to see what people come up with and publish. Of course all of the writings will have to be reviewed so that no OOC issues are brought into the business environment. I'm looking forward to see what people come up with!
