The Hedonist Casino

BACKGROUND: A continuation of it's core Story place as a Casino and more upper market night life hangout. I'll make the managing of The Hedonist Casino central to my characters story especially at first to be on hand with staff as much as possible. Employees will have positions in the business relating to the skills they represent, I'd like to have at least one manager to help cover timezones especially those that I can't be there for and to provide more opportunities for other roleplayers to come in and enjoy some time at the tables. Although Jeanie hasn't got much of a background working in Casino's she would like to move away from her work in the hospital due to family issues and actually abhors gambling herself, as such she's in a fairly good place for looking from the outside in when it comes to the 'customers' she's not about to start gambling against them. The Black Mamba are interested in moving into new ventures and Jeanie's taking this opportunity with backup from the Cartel to move into a management position, it's not her ideal kind of job but she's always dedicated when she is put up to a task and is good at finding jobs for people when they need doing. I see staff working as bartenders, croupiers and entertainers [Dancers who will work the poles upstairs for example] The bar's focus will be on more expensive cocktail type drinks rather than casual drinking as previously noted there's plenty of other places to go drinking in town, we want the focus here to be gambling. I can see staff coming in as Bar tenders and being quickly encouraged to learn to be Croupiers or to do other more involved tasks in the casino, both to keep them more interested and to give a better spread of stories within the roleplay. Special Event Nights to be held once a month and I'll try to keep changing it up regularly to keep it fresh and draw different people into the events, ideas currently include; -Poker Night - A tournament of some kind [not sure how this would work with the current club layout but I'm sure something could be figured out] -High Roller Night - Free Drink for all guests using a token they're given at entry, although there is an entry fee and Formal Attire required for all guests. Staff should be well turned out in uniform. Generally 'posh' theme nights. -Topless Croupier Night - Staff members will be a focus attraction on topless nights, these might either be themed as ladies nights or gents nights and varieties there of, think 'sexy' theme nights. -Charity Events, might be mixed with other themes, there's lots of different kinds of events that can be held here really. Events and Party Services - Parties Hen/Stag Nights, Birthdays catered for etc - Need 'dancers' for your party, toys for your hen do - The Casino can provide many services through it's business partners. Need a larger room for your office party. Want to hold a product demo? The Hedonist is the perfect venue. Proximity with the eights - I'm aware from other players and from reading older applications for management of the Casino that events will have to be organized alongside any held there in order to minimize too much confusion in terms of post-order and just having too many people in one place. It sounds like most of the time people have been good at working around each other but I'm aware of the problem and will do my best to communicate with people to make sure that won't be too much of an issue. Jeanie is a member of Black Mamba and as such certain grey/criminal activities will be taking place on the premises. We plan on holding fight clubs and shady betting now and then down in the basement. As such the 'front' of the Hedonist being a more upmarket and clean place will help serve as a mask for some of the more violent cartel related activities.

UNIQUE: This is the only Casino on sim and as such it already is unique in offering a place for gambling roleplay and everything that goes along with that. It offers the opportunity for people to get in debt, get on the wrong side of bad people and a place for those not so interested in Drink to go indulge in some vices. Keeping the focus on gambling and very much on the Hedonistic indulgences yet with a more presentable face helps distinguish it from regular drinking and the darker nightclub establishments. It offers a middle road roleplay for those who can't quite see their characters going down to the RLD yet want to indulge.

EXPERIENCE:OOC: I've been a group leader in the past on a few occasions, generally people seem to find me easy enough to speak too OOC and I'm fairly good at diffusing OOC arguments and involving people in ongoing stories where I can. I like to see to it that everyone is enjoying themselves if I can and hopefully being involved with the Hedonist can give me more opportunities to provide a platform for people to take their stories in new directions. IC: Jeanie has connections with various groups and as such hopes to provide a fairly neutral area despite being obviously predominantly a Black Mamba business. With the other Black Mamba sister businesses we'll be working on events together, for example working together with Spunks as a venue for Stag/Hen do's and other such roleplays.

IDEAS:I'd like to speak to people who sign up at the business and engage them directly with the story - get a feel for when different people are available and hopefully hook them up with other staff members or customers. I'd like players who are stuck in the Casino when it's not busy to go out and flyer strangers, get a little rp going with them as a welcome to the sim and also give them something to do instead of solely waiting for roleplay so that people can get to know each other better.

OTHER:A formal high-roller night - there would be tickets in the form of Casino Chips that would provide entrance to guests and also allow them access to the games being run that night. Though more chips would be purchasable from the cashier - All proceeds going to a IC charity. First drink from the bar free and a special prize would go to whom ever managed to collect the most of the special chips.
