GROUP NAME: The Red Herring Cafe

BACKSTORY: Founded by Ephran Ehrler and Petra Drasilova, the Red Herring is a combination coffee shop and bakery, offering quality baked goods and gourmet imported coffee (aka life juice) to the residents of DE. The RH's homegrown atmosphere and down-to-earth ownership also provide a nice place to spend some time enjoying the city's ambiance.

UNIQUE: Behind the scenes, the ownership dabbles in the drug trade. Rather than fuel the thing through straight reselling however, their tactics are more underhanded; they lace their products with various drugs and serve them to unsuspecting customers--initial customers often balk at high prices, but find themselves returning again and again for more, though they may not understand why. This ensures a healthy profit margin for the shop and its associated suppliers, not to mention a consistent customer base. It also creates a ready pool of individuals with various illicit substances in their systems which should show easily on any standard drug analysis. This creates the potential for several story hooks; from arrests to blackmails, etc. The owners, unable to resist poking fun at their own clientele, have even gone so far as to name their front business exactly for what it is.

IDEAS:IC, the RH offers easy access to an established role through its jobs, easy-to-incorporate story hooks revolving around the illicit underpinnings of its trade, and an engaging environment that encourages RP both within the shop itself and in the surrounding sim.
