BACKSTORY: New Horizons bookstore hosts thousands of publications from our time's most inspiring and outspoken authorities on personal development, spiritual growth, and mind-body awareness. From Deepak Chopra to Wayne Dwyer, from the hermetic wisdom of the ancients to the uplifting affirmations of today's spiritual leaders, New Horizons delivers their voices to commu--BWAHAHAH! Just Kidding! It's a front for peddling Mind9Light propaganda! Since the DEPD in its infinite wisdom decided to perform an illegal raid on an innocent community center and terrorize its harmless, well-meaning staff, putting a hold on the Mind9Light center's activities and setting back the staff's proposal for an operations license for weeks, if not months, director Steve Bartel and his ever eager assistant Judy 'Judy, Judy Always on Duty!' Tatasciore, have decided to resurrect, LIKE A MIGHTY PHOENIX RISING FROM THE ASHES AND CARNAGE OF WAR, and regroup themselves as managers of a new age bookstore. In between Tolle and Osteen is plenty of reading material from Mind9Light hierarchs, no less from Mind9Light front man, the enigmatic Laurant Heller, that is nuttier than a Payday. So come on in, grab your yoga mat, your chanting beads, and your cleansing crystals and get enlightened by one of these fine reads!

UNIQUE: New Horizons is a place for the intellectual rp'er (*adjusts monocle*). Since I'm a sworn devotee to immersive environments in rp, I offer the Mind9Light house as the home of the bookstore, a fun little place with clicky bookshelves, hidden notes and even a secret room. New Horizons invite all to peruse its selection of 'books' in the form of NCs from the clickable bookshelves, and to even submit their own authored work through either Steve or Judy to place on the shelves for others to read. In the place of an actual cult (which was, and still is, our original intention) the bookstore will invite DE residents to the Mind9Light house to absorb its philosophy in the form of literature.

EXP:One, I'm a good listener. Two, I'm a decisive person and a competent strategist, so I can give clear orders. Three, I respect and acknowledge people's limitations and desires, whatever they might be (as long as it's not something creepy and out of my comfort zone).

IDEAS:An idea I have is to invite players to guest talks given by other role players who wish to share any particular knowledge or expertise they possess. This need not be Mind9Light related stuff, but any IC or OOC skills a rp'er would like to share. Players who would like to teach a class or give a talk can propose their idea to Steve or Judy or any other Mind9Light staff to set up a time and date. Steve and Judy will provide the tainted Kool-Aid refreshments (jk!).

OTHER:Because it's creepy and its proprietors are always open to new ideas.
