warumono-modesaidDead End Memorial Hospital/Dead End Asylum TYPE: SLURL: BACKGROUND: As a leader of Dead End Medical Hospital and Dead End Asylum, most of all, I want the hospital to be a hub for the generation and continuation of roleplay. I would work to expand Princess' initiatives (after-care, psychological services, combining efforts with factions, etc.) but also make the combined medical center a place where multiple levels of roleplay take place outside the hospital, as well. Dead End Medical Hospital and Asylum is by it's very nature, a grimy and dark venue. The roleplay in the hospital can be as light or dark as the players see fit. The asylum, by it's very nature and the furnishings within, should be the darkest place on sim. As stated above, the Dead End Medical Complex (Hospital and Asylum combined) should be a place where multiple sim-wide story lines can and quite frankly, should converge. The hospital is important in the care of the participants after a trauma, illness, or other malady, but also should be a hub for community events and the advancement of faction story lines. Where else could a gang get black market prescription drugs, a participant get diagnosed with a disease or mental illness, hold a community job fair/event, be committed for further evaluation, and still get that spot checked out? I have a few ideas for regular events such as health screenings, community health demonstrations (effects of alcohol outside of LuLu's, Lyss' Lair, or Dark Room, sex education seminar outside of Dark Room or Lyss' Lair, importance of exercise and diet outside of the Parolr, etc.), and various blood drives around the sim. I can see that bringing roleplay to areas that aren't in a prime location or widely used. The hospital needs new members and to that end, I see a main mission for me is to find people that Leigh roleplays with and OOC ask them if they'd like a job in-sim. OOC I would assist new players with the process of filling out charts and actual medical roleplay. I consider myself an important part of the hospital and a leader, not in title, but in presence. Leigh will still be there even if she is not made a Lead. Sometimes the best assistance is to let the roleplay work itself through and discuss, when asked, how one could make the play better. Leigh sees herself as a character who is developing her expertise within the hospital, much like her typist developing within the sim, and grateful to Princess Yheng for offering her a chance to leave the Dark Room and get a single chance to continue her IC residency in the hospital. UNIQUE: As alluded to above, I see the Medical Complex as being a hub for many types of roleplay. We have the vanilla medical roleplay that one expects from the emergency room and recovery ward, to experimental surgery, to psychological roleplay through counseling sessions and stays in the asylum that do not have to be sexual in nature, to the full DE Asylum experience. Leigh is almost always on sim after her typist gets home and her schedule seems to compliment Princess'. The Medical Hospital could maintain a presence at others' events through community events, seminars, or demonstrations. The hospital can also be a hub for other factions to promote their propaganda and can work in conjunction with them to advance sim-wide storylines. EXPERIENCE:My past experience comes in the form of regular gaming. I am a total role playing game geek at heart, and pretty much, aside from the occasional basketball game, only play other games that have a great storyline. That is what kept me in Dead End and have not thought of leaving and going anywhere else. I would also include that my recent past experience has led me to believe that I can do a great job as a lead of the hospital. I actually found that I love medical RP and have logged many hours in the DE Medical Complex and as a DEFD EMT/Firefighter. I have had my roleplay shaped by many great people in Dead End (Princess, Kendall, Barley, and Aleha, I'm looking at you), and although I won't promise that I'll never have an off day, I take criticism and try to make my roleplay better the next time around. I haven't left the sim to go to another roleplay environment, because this is where I feel at home. My personal qualities that I think will help me as a leader are three-fold: 1. I am a leader in my Real-Life workplace. I meet with multiple people, several times a day and problem solve all day, every day. I know how to work with multiple types of people and generally am able to find something that people are good at and am good at drawing people to consensus. 2. I know what is is to work on a team. My job is only good insofar as the weakest link. I will work with, and listen to those with more sim-wide experience, and certainly the Medical Complex leadership team to create fun roleplay for as many as we can accomodate. 3. I find myself very approachable and willing to help. I have not refused to roleplay with anyone on sim and try to roleplay with people standing around, even if it is short or something Leigh does in passing. I am eager to roleplay and eager to lend a hand to advance roleplay for the sim, not just Leigh's personal or faction goals. IDEAS:My plan to engage new player on sim as well as new employees is largely the same. I attempt to roleplay with anyone. Leigh already wears a lot of hats on sim (DEMH, DE Asylum Shrink and Patient, DEFD, New Dawn Acolyte, Innocent, Pawn, and DR Dancer from time to time) and has worked with many on sim. I do not expect this to change, though Leigh will be acting as a Doctor Board Member in many more of those dealings. With those who signup for the hospital, I will do anything and everything that I can to make them feel welcome, competent, and most of all, appreciated and valued within the RP community, much as she would with those outsdie of the hospital. OTHER:There are so many ideas that I have bouncing around in my head at the moment, I would have to work with the eventual team to decide, as I am assuming that when both leads are chosen, it will be a joint opening. If I were to do this solo, which I am glad that I have a team to advance the Dead End Medical Complex, I would plan something akin to a community Open House. I would invite all of the factions and businesses to set up shop on the grounds to promote themselves, with demonstrations provided by the "civil service" and sex organizations. With the vision that I have for the hospital, and the cooperation between the Medical Complex and factions about the sim, it seems only fitting that we allow others to do what they do as we do what we do. |
