BACKGROUND: The DE Daily has been a chronicle of our stories ever since I first joined Dead End. It's a big ship to sail with big shoes to fill and so rich with opportunity for everyone in DE. The Daily is our document. It's our ongoing canon and history. A way to find out about the big events going on around you IC instead of overhearing in OOC. But it's reach for a player extends beyond the simple stories that appear on its pages. It's a rich network of writers and photographers. Story tellers and those with secrets. It's an operation which needs structures which work together, to make the IC and OOC elements easier.

UNIQUE: I would like to work with those already working with the Daily to grow the paper back up once again. To make this happen a new approach is needed. I would propose new functions. Firstly, to improve IC teamwork within the business by appointing an internal manager to work with me in creating a space for play. New players would be welcomed and initiated both ICly and OOCly, their ideas welcomes and contributed. I believe the Daily is a collaboative project which should be open for all to enjoy and create. We do that through everything we do on sim. Little things leading to big things. If Eve were to run it, she would be a very much 'for the people' editor. She has a strong anti-establishment stubborn streak in her and is unafraid to speak the truth. I think anyone who plays with her could back me up here. She's also fallible like anyone else, but I would pledge to write fairly from an OOC basis and help to create guides for making writing easier for those who do wish to submit. The second part would be to work with businesses and factions to get their stories heard. Not everybody wants to work with the paepr full-time. That doesn't mean your stories should ont get heard when we are low on hours. Real life is a thing we all respect. I would like to liaise with leaders and managers as to how it is best to get things out there. Columns. I think it would be great to get columns back into the paper. Gossip. Opinion pieces. Lonely hearts. One regular event I would run would be a speed dating night held in randomly selected bars and venues around town. Something light but fun and of course, getting people drunk is no bad way to get tongues wagging. You never know what you might hear. Coming from a thieves background IC, it might be that staff suited to such stealthy tactics might be encouraged to go find out what they could via their own means - within coverable reason and with OOC permission, of course- to bow up stories and increase their readership and thus their advertisements. Aesthetically I would like to return stories to their old ways of having a few photos within the piece as well as for the featured one on the front page. Our streets are grey, our actions colourful and DE boasts some great photographers.

EXPERIENCE:I am a fair player and person. I have also worked for many different DE businesses over my time. I managed the Red Herring and ran Spin Dizzy in the RLD. During my time at Spin I also got to work with different businesses, helping them to bring their events to life and getting to document some of that along the way on my alt Izzy (Isobelle Paige) who was lucky enough to get to write about some amazing stories. I worked with Kay and Vance who ran the paper and the Herring at the time and I saw first hand how much work they put into making things work. And for me, I would like to continue that and take it forward. It is a lot of effort and I respect that. But I believe we can all make it work and I would love to help lead that. From a background basis I am familiar with the WP site and have some RL experience in journalism. I also enjoy taking photos of things happenign around DE, some of which can be seen on the DE Flickr Page. The Daily has some amazing features in its past which I would love to reintroduce. New player 'Out on the streets' feature interviewing one "new" to the paper person a week. Encourage them to get involved and have a reason for people to stop them in the street. Prey or lover? Victim or friend? Fellow Whovian? Let's get involved and make them welcome. New players who join the business will get full OOC and IC briefings and be invited in. I wouldd like to bring back staff meetings for people who wish to RP in the paper as characters. Get a sense of team going on and maybe start new investigative partnerships. 😉 I would also encourage photographers to get involved with photo credits for photos submitted. People who were interested could also join up to document events known about in advance - subject to interest. As mentioned above, I would also look at creating better guides for writers on staff as well as improving the current submission system from other players for their stories.

OTHER:To repoen the Daily I would throw a party somewhere in DE and invite all the walkers and talkers with complimentray free bar VIP. Others could come too. Businesses would have golden tickets to give out to their nth customers inviting them to this "exclusive" event. (But of course nothing is absolute in DE) Ply those secrets from their lips in a suitably encouragingin environment and get the paper back on the map.
