(Since it seems Billy is not returning to Dead End I thought he should go out as a hero 😀 )

We all turned hearing a startled scream. But it was Billy that rose to the occasion. Not far behind us we could see
Sarah Hilburton scrambling trying to stay afloat in the raging waters one hand grasping at a downed power line it withering about like a snake. Billy took one look and tossed me his hat before diving into the churning water. I never thought him graceful but he moved through those waters like an eel. But just as he reached her the wall of the Dead End Daily collapsed sending a tidal wave of destruction shooting toward them both. Billy gave us one last balefully smile as he wrapped his arms around the struggling girl knowing that they had no chance to reach safety, then the wave struck. We searched and cried out for them both but to no avail. Their bodies were washed out to sea.
