AnonymoussaidReal name: Madeline Tiffany Sanders So what is there to say about this girl that won’t sound cliché? Typical rebellious girl who ran away from her parents when they loved her very much? Or the spoiled only child who always got her way until one day her parents said no? The only child of successful businessman and a real estate agent, she lived an extremely sheltered childhood. She was home schooled until high school, and then sent to a private school. They expected her to be feminine, wear only dresses and not participate in anything that they considered as unfeminine. She tried to do everything they said, never daring to disobey, but feeling like she was a failure because she knew what was in her heart. When she graduated from high school and moved a short distance away to go to a college her parents approved of that had strict rules of behavior. While there she discovered people living secret lives, outwardly conforming, but inwardly independent. She realized she wasn’t alone in how she felt. As for relationships, she started dating a boy her parents approved of, and though he was attentive, her heart wasn’t in the relationship. Slowly, she developed feelings for her roommate as they spent time together. Her boyfriend noticed this, and reported to her parents. They confronted her, and at first she was able to quench their suspicions. She went through the motions of being in a relationship with her boyfriend. Then she graduated. She had secretly applied to graduate school and had been accepted. However, that summer, she spent more and more time with her former roommate. They finally secretly got together. What she didn’t know was that her boyfriend had started spying on her, upon the request of her parents, and he discovered that her and her roommate were together. Immediately, he went to her parents with the proof, and then sent her packing to a “rehab clinic” to reform her behavior. She doesn’t talk about what happened there. The only thing she says about it is that it was an awful experience. This is where she developed the identity of Arya Charis. She spent a few weeks there, then managed to run away. When she returned to her parents’ house they were going to return her to the clinic so she ran, leaving everything behind. She lost her biological family because they hated who she was, and she lost her girlfriend due to what happened in the rehab clinic. They decided to break up, and Arya wandered around for a couple of weeks looking for a place to restart and finally ended up in Dead End. |
