BACKSTORY: When Pyres was young, and was training for marathons, and such, his father had taught him the ways of herbs. He ran a herb shop back in Bakersfield. Since Hospitals were a far way away, it was customary to go to the Herb Shop in case an injury would happen, or a common sickness, to receive treatment for it and get well. Pyres had been taught the basics of the plants, how to make a healing salve, how to make medicine that would curb an appetite, and even how to make a sleeping powder. Of course, after his father passed away he dropped the act. It wasn't until Raziel entered his life, did he begin to understand the disastrous results that herbs could create. With his knowledge, and Raziels hunger for pain and misery, Pyres began to learn, forced by his counter part in his mind, poisons. How to create a paralysis liquid after mashing up a few herbs together, heating it up, grinding it down. The liquid could easily be coated onto a blade. With Raziel constantly in control, Pyres' knowledge grew, and the more he knew, the more Raziel knew. With Raziel in control, he talked to Pyres and in exchange for his 'freedom' he would have to start up an Apothecary shop. Pyres knew what Raziel's true intentions were. But Pyres would not be out done by the assassin. If he were to make a shop, he'd try to right the wrongs his life had committed. He'd help the sick and the elderly, the tortured and the wounded, with his past knowledge. But there was always one thing both Raziel and Pyres had wanted. Money. The Apothecary would be the perfect way to utilize their skills and make money off of it, whether it be for evil reasons, or for good reasons. To summarize, Raziel and Pyres want to make money, and using a skill they both know how to utilize, they want to set up an Apothecary for two reasons, each being the other alter ego's idea. Pyres, wants to help save people. Raziel wants to promote destruction. My overall agenda with this plan, is simple. I want to help bring a variety of ways to help people out with their role-plays. I've seen a lot of people try to knock people out, or try to chloroform them. In fights, when one person gets cut, they get cut and they're still good to go a little, depending on the severity of the injury. My thought process of this is simple. What if someone who was stabbed, was stabbed with a blade dipped in a poison that would send shockwaves of pain through their body. Intensifying the feel of the cut? What if it was a venom that paralyzed the leg? Spread out? The person stabbed, would have to hold on. As for doctors. What happens if a man was stabbed in the chest, but for some reasons, maybe that he didnt want the doctors to fix him up and inform the police, he couldn't go to the hospital. He'd go to the Apothecary and have their services used to help heal the wound with healing salve, and try to take away some of the pain. It could be 'underground' for some, to help heal injuries, or as simple as going there to get a sleeping powder to put in a food of a potential victim a man intends to rape, or kidnap, or a loved one who can't seem to sleep? That's my agenda. Bring more RP to the sim, with different ways of thinking. Both for 'civilians' and for 'criminals'
UNIQUE: The business, is that of which I haven't seen. I've seen other things, like weed shops, that have been offered to the community. I want to start by saying this is NOT a weed shop. This is NOT for drugs, although it could be if I chose to grow marijuana or shrooms, but that is not my intention. My intention is simple. I want to bring a legal and illegal front with herbs. The legal front would use the herbs as medicine, as past Apothecary's have done before. To treat colds, ailments, etc, as well as provide healing salve for injuries. But underneath it all, is an assassins play pen. His 'work' where he can buy herbs for poisons. To mix them together. Illegal plants, not used to get a 'high' from them. But to use them for lethal usages, or for momentary pain. Torture, kidnapping, long fights, you name it. The herbs are there for their usage, and would cost more than the legalized, medicinal herbs. I've not seen a herb shop/apothecary before, and I think it'll bring a bit of RP to both sides of the field.
EXP:Well, let's see. I've had a lot of experience in the leadership aspects, as well as role-play. Back when I played San Andreas Multi-player, to get an 'official' faction scripted, you had to be patient, and show how dedicated you were. Normally, it takes a very long time. My faction I ran, Dei Victorae, was a mafia based in the rich areas of Los Santos. The process, was slow at first. For the first three weeks, it was only two members. After that, we began to grow and my dedication and leader skills got us scripted within the first five months. I've held multiple leader spots across various games, role-plays, as well. Heres a small list of my leadership experience over the years. -Promoted to Role-play moderator on the forums for Champions of the Force. Later on, would go on to write up the 'Role-play Tips and Tricks' which gave insight onto character development, plot set ups, basis, and then how to join an RP. After which, led me to be Chief Role-play moderator of the Rp section. -Leader of a Scripted Faction/Mafia on SA-MP that went on for two years before I quit the game and moved on with RL. -Helped set up a group RP story arc on Star Wars: The Old Republic, that had around eighty members, all with different story arcs, all intermingling together to bring the entire guild a sense of RP. Led the guild, and the name was "The Frozen Flame" (Outside of RP) Guild Wars - Led multiple guilds to the top 100 on the guild ladder, one of them to the top 5, known as Team Quitter. Counter-Strike Source - Led a clan to CAL-Invite, and eventually CEVO-Main until we disbanded. World of Warcraft - Led a semi-successful guild of about eighteen players who raided constantly. The list goes on, this is just a brush up on the past eight years of my leadership capabilities.
IDEAS:New Ideas and Events. Hm. Well, from an IC perspective, the Apothecary is to serve people with medicines that can help ease the pain, and increase healing, etc. It is there to help with common symptoms. Such as, inability to sleep. Stuffy nose, things that are common and things that are fatal. It is in its entirety, to help aid the people with herbs, and plants, natural ways to cure ailments. Healing Salve, etc, all sorts of things. But on the underground, there is another thing that herbs and such, can contain. Poison. I've seen a lot of RP, and such, but I've used the RP before where my blade was dipped in a poison, that would cause 'paralysis' with the few herbs mixed together. ICly, this would be a place to go to for 'healing' as well as for 'criminal' acts. To create poisons, if you have the know how, or have the people behind the counter, create poisons. It is a perfect way to be a 'stealthy assassin' of course. Now, what will we do to help better the DE community? It is my hopes, that with this place, it would create a lot of 'Realism' feel and expand new role-plays rather than the simple 'Drug with Chloroform' 'Knock out the person' RP. So, to simplify it because I'm rambling. IC, this would work for both the legal and illegal aspects of dead end. It will branch out role-play and offer people an alternative than to run to the hospital or RP going to the Quick-E-Mart for cold medicine. OOC, I feel this would help people out and create new possible ways to role-play with new in depth RP. I've been reading up on herbs, and their potential uses, as well as poisonous herbs and the side effects as well. I'll be creating note cards for each poison/medicine I make, to give people if they'd come in and buy one.
OTHER:I think it'd be a good fit, for a variety of reasons. Besides the hospital or a pharmacy, theres not a lot of room for people who might want to rp a 'flu' etc. And with all the ways going on, it leaves fights, and 'potential RP' bland for my tastes, to be honest. I want to help influence a new way to RP. A new way to do all the past RP, with a side perspective. The idea came from 'Way of Shadows' where Kylar went to the Apothecary to get a few herbs and plants that would be created into poisons that he can use. That is where the idea stems from, I'm a big fan of Brent Week's work. And after I read it, I started to research it as well. Ultimately, I want to bring forth new ways to RP with the same old fashion, and this idea I have not seen before. I feel it is unique, and it would bring both the 'legal/illegal' RP that is all over Dead End, and give us all a new way of RPing.
