BACKGROUND: BACKGROUND: I understand there is already a law firm in DE, but it is the DA's office. Could I, or any other person wishing to RP a defense attorney, work out of that same office? Sure we could, but realistically, this would never happen because of the obvious lack of privacy, and most defendants would worry about that lack of privacy, not to mention most would not feel comfortable walking into and meeting his or her attorney in the same office as those who are trying to send them away for good.
This is why I am proposing to open an office of my own that I would pay for and would welcome other's if they wanted to join and work in the office. It would realistically make sense because with all the crime one person could not defend all, but I will gladly work my ass off if I am the only one. LOL. From my understanding, there is a need for this type of RP, for those wishing to follow the RP through further than just being arrested and bailed out or simply released.
UNIQUE: As far as I know, there is no current attorney here in DE working on the defense side. I have also been told others have tried it in the past but it just did not work out. I am hoping to make this work by going about things in a different manner (in my opinion at least). Karma is and can be very corrupt in her work, but that is where it stops. As far as the general population knows, Karma is as straight as they come. She is one of the "good guys". Hell, her best friend, the person she lives with, and spends the most amount of time with is the Captain of the DEPD! She does not outwardly break the law for all of the general public to see, but she does do whatever it takes for her clients, even when that means bending or breaking the law, on the DL of course.
I think another thing that makes me unique in attempting this role is that I am a criminal defense lawyer in RL. This is primarily why I wish to play the role as corrupt because a straight-and-narrow lawyer would be boring and no fun to me as I do it every day in RL. No, this does not mean I will be breaking out legal terms and getting all serious like with it. It simply means that I can think of some stuff from either my schooling or my own experience that would make someone go, -"da fuck?" My goal in wanting to do this is to offer an extended RP where the law is concerned, have fun, and build on-going RP relationships with everyone from the "good guys" to all of the poor "falsely accused" misunderstood souls of DE.
EXPERIENCE: In the past, one another AV that has been in DE for years now, I was the lead in one of DE's already established businesses, the massage parlor (I will provide the AV name to admin if needed but prefer not to do so publicly for personal reasons) . I have ran and/or been the admin in a few Gorean Sims, and have owned and ran several clubs and other businesses in SL. My main AV has been in SL for 11 years so I have done a lot over the years.
IDEAS: I have sooooo many ideas as far as RP goes just from hearing about a few of the more "prominent" potential clients I would have. I'd rather not go into public details on these though because I'd hate to take the fun and spontaneity out of the potential RPs.
However, to give a few ideas... I've had many ideas of how evidence could be potentially lost, stolen, or tampered with. Some ways of how she can use her personal relationship with the Captain of the PD to benefit her case. Some ways of using other unassuming criminals to benefit her current case. Karma has many skills she has acquired over the years that will be revealed through RP including, but not limited to providing "alibis" for those with none, forging certain records such as hospital records, making fake IDs, "acquiring" green cards for said clients that may not have them. Some ideas of how she could prove to her potential clients that she can be trusted, that they need her to help them, and ways to go about proving just how good she is at her job. I will always strive to provide the most entertaining and in-depth RP as my rp partners wish the RP to be.
If I end up with others who wish to work in defense, this would open up RPs with that as well, from the interview process, proving Karma and her clients can trust him or her, and working together on cases. I also foresee RP opportunities with those from the DA's office, police department, etc.
Grand Opening: I'm not sure if I'd call it a grand opening or a grand emergence. Karma would start out the "grand" event by setting up a booth outside of her office, a PSA of sorts, getting her name out there with the "criminal persuasion" by protesting that she was there to be the voice for those no one else will listen to. Karma will strive to play out that she would be their new best friends, giving them a fair fight in the once very unfair legal system of DE. Karma may even move this grand "emergence" in front of the PD, as well as moving into the PD demanding PSA posters and her business cards to be placed in the PD. She will even move said PSA down to the red-light district knowing that many of those who could use her help would not necessarily make it up town without a reason. As part of this emergence she will also work her way around to local businesses leaving cards and asking to leave her PSA posters there as well.
OTHER:Could I offer this type of RP out of a home I would rent or simply in the back of a bar, coffee shop, etc? Sure, I could, but I believe having a private office for the defense side of the law makes it more realistic and offers many more RP opportunities! Questions? Please feel free to ask!

EXPERIENCE:I was the lead for the massage parlor for quite some time on another AV before I took a break from SL. I love the interaction, RP, and responsibilites that go along with having an IC business. I feel that I would really enjoy this once again, and as it is law, and I love it, it means I will be willing to spend a good amount of time doing it
