Hello everyone! Kinx had a wonderful RP idea that involves the creation and distribution of a new lab created drug that is going to be sold in DE during the prohibition. He approached me with developing the drug since I work and have certification in Addiction Therapy. After some research and then reviewing it with Kinx, this is what I came up with and he will continue with the storyline. I hope you enjoy it as you read it.

Methyo-Tricycliclate-Adenosine (MTA) or AKA “Donkey Kick” is a Class A, Schedule I drug that is not sold in the United States at this time, has a high potential for abuse, has no current accepted medical use in treatment in the United States and it has been determined by the FDA that there is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision. The drug was recently discovered to exist since Fall 2014 with the cities of Dead End and Detroit, Michigan becoming a major distribution hub. The availability of this drug is growing at a significant rate with it becoming widely available and easily attainable at sky rocketing rates within the Midwestern and Southeastern United States within the next 6-12 months. MTA is a lab created drug with its origins in some of the more addictive illegal drugs that presently exist. MTA appears to mimics the qualities of Black Tar Heroin, Caffeine, Meth, and Cocaine within its chemical makeup.

Historical Background

MTA was first observed to be used by the general public by Detroit medical personnel in late Fall 2014, when patients that entered emergency rooms had exhibited symptoms that were associated with the previously listed drugs. However, upon testing, medical professionals were not able to determine a clear defined drug and individuals would test positive for Heroin, Meth and Cocaine at the same time; but when referred for treatment, individuals would have difficulty with treatment and would remain highly addicted weeks or months later with little resolve within their treatment. During the initial detox phase, some individuals would exhibit symptoms that were similar to Heroin and Meth detox, however, there was an extremely high rate of death from cardiac arrest and brain damage from excessively high temperatures for several hours with an average body temperature of 103 degrees Fahrenheit and seizures lasting for days with little success in treatment.

Symptoms of MTA Addiction and Use

Individuals that use MTA have reduced appetite, increased euphoria, insomnia, some incidents of psychosis both audio-visual hallucinations, GI distress with flatulence and diarrhea, dry mouth, effects the opioid receptors of the brain that are located in the brain stem, also increases dopamine levels significantly, which gives an intense very euphoric immediate rush which lasts over 2-4 hours depending on body weight (fat soluble), chronic use effects emotion and long term memory and reduces cognitive processes for higher learning and logic, increased physical activity, hypersensitivity in nerve endings leading to users picking at their skin due to feelings of “insects” crawling underneath it, tachycardia, increased body temperature and blood temperature, upon entering the bloodstream after chewing it also has the same effects of stimulating the adrenal glands to release epinephrine which also increases the neuro pathways for pleasure with this drug and adds to the increased heart rate and blood pressure.

Treatment of MTA

At this time, addiction, behavioral health and medical professionals use during the initial detox phase of MTA, a combination that uses treatment and detox protocols that combine Heroin, Meth, and Cocaine; the similar effects of Caffeine MTA has is not typically addressed during the this detox phase and typically addicts appear to do well with some introduction of a prescription strength level Caffeine dose during the following treatment phase. Individuals are recommended to follow the ongoing treatment that addresses a combination of Opiate and Meth addiction. It is unknown at this time if there is a high relapse factor.
