The setup: A new candidate has tossed his hat into the ring and is going to make his announcement at a building (which would NPCly be constructed). In order to gain the love and respect of the DE citizens, he's decided to host a party for the entire town. There will be what DE loves the most, strippers, booze, BDSM and music (He's done his research). He's new to the area, never even lived in DE, but he understands what it takes to be a good candidate. (or she, whichever.) This candidate caught wind of the campaign and in order to gain more power, has decided to take a corrupt city and use it to his advantage. (perhaps a few newspaper articles in regards to his corruption level and what he's done to cities in the past could be useful build-up prior to the event.)
The Idea: Unfortunately, there are folks in this town who don't appreciate a new face (especially one nobody knows) running against beloved others.. Specifically if we post articles in regards to his corruption in the past and the downfall of many cities he's had under his thumb.. This party is a chance for him to clear the air, get the folks of DE to understand what he's done and why and to perhaps gain the vote and confidence of those who live here.. and thus, something terrible is going to go down.. A bomb.. perhaps one made too strong and ends up causing more destruction than originally intended..
The participation level: This is going to require the use of the FD in full force, PD and even maybe docs from DEMH on scene to help coordinate who needs to hit the hospital and who can be field treated and sent home.. Major rescue efforts involving the ladder truck, fire engine, EMT vehicles and maybe even our robot that can go over rough terrain..
For those inside: we're looking at folks being trapped.. smoke inhalation issues, burns.. people trapped under rubble that need to be removed.. possible mini-explosions due to gas lines and electrical fires.. The multi-story building has one way up and one way down, which has been sealed off by the bombs placement.. the building is still standing, but nobody knows for how long.. We're looking also for alts to be killed, making the scene more intense for those inside.. folks on the verge (using mains or not) of death and, of course, will be rescued..
The efforts will take some time and this scene will take a bit to do.. I would be happy to weave how the building is doing as we go and we can even have it collapse and need to pull people out from the rubble afterwards..
Timeline: Due to the absolutely overwhelming hugeness I want this scene to be, the party for the candidate would start earlier in the daytime, giving participants time to arrive, settle and be ready(oocly) for the impending doom.. The candidate can make his rounds, begin kissing ass to the masses and folks can ask questions regarding the published stories.. Meanwhile, the bomb is either being set or has been set and is ready to blow towards the afternoon.. Cops will be posted inside and out so when it finally does go boom.. help will be radioed for immediately.. The FD Is so close that they'll arrive fairly quickly..
The scene is hoped to take all day (if not a two day event...).. it will take FD some time to get to folks trapped upstairs being they will need to work out HOW to get people out and will need to get those downstairs out first prior to collapse..
Should all go smooth and those left inside are those wanting a collapse, that's something we can do towards the evening.. the state of the rescue workers will be so ragged that they may need to wait until the following morning to attempt rescue, to make sure the building is done exploding/collapsing.. and that the majority of the fire has been put out (what's not being continually fueled by gas lines)..
THANK YOU TO LUCAS FOR COMING UP WITH THIS IDEA AND PLOTTING IT! Remember, we are always open to plot ideas! Thank you!
