A lot of articles have been written about the effects of SL and virtual worlds on RL. The problems linked to crossing the border between SL and RL have cause a lot of people to state "SL= SL and RL = RL". I, for one, have had my share of SL seeping into my RL with all the drama that follows.

The RP community within SL have caused SL to be divided as well. Namely in OOC and IC. So instead of being the guy or girl behind the computer and a AV, you're also a RP Character. Inception much? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Why am I writing this? I have noticed people getting into drama and fights over something their IC has said. So I will elaborate on my opinion only to see what other views on this are out there.

My whole SL experience is now RL | SL | IC. In IC anything can happen, it's RP and I do it simply because anything can happen. But the people I meet IC are characters and I might not be so fond or on the contrary be more fond of them in SL (OOC), therefore I apply my RL vs SL-rule to RP as well. My IC's actions and words should not lead to any interference in my SL (OOC). With the exception of Sim and RP Rules of course. I also get that some IC-play requires an OOC-conversation. But at no point will I allow anyone to attack me OOC because I have said or done something jerky in IC. It requires time and get-to-know before anyone from my IC may cross that border into SL (OOC) and from SL to RL, it takes a whole lot more. Now I'm left with some questions for you to answer.

Does anyone think the way I separate this into three worlds, is too serious? Why?
How does DE and it's GM handle negative interference between IC and OOC?
Anyone with some experience to share?
