A lot has been made of the jail time in DE, and while its true that "you don't have to have that rp if you don't want it" applies on an individual basis, the jail time component of street cred means on an institutional level, going to jail is somewhat necessary. This is unfair to organizations and distorts rp in that it promotes, nay... requires... total lack of judgment on the part of the participants.

Street cred should be overhauled so that players interested in obtaining cred can hand over scenes that support the sim's central themes. Kidnapping, bdsm, rape and so on. A pred who hands over an rp where he carefully and quietly gets his prey off the street and molests them should get cred. SO too should his victim get cred. This encourages smart rp on the part of preds and participation on the part of potential victims who want to contribute to their organization by being professional victims.

In addition, players could and should lose cred for public ridiculousness. murder someone in hiding in a neat little dark rp sim? + cred. murder someone in the square outside of lulus while proclaiming you're king of the world? - cred.

This system would end the distorting effect street cred has on rp currently, and reduce the feeling among the criminal element that they are required to spend long hours in jail (as doing stuff to get thrown there is bad for them instead of icly bad and oocly good).
