I've been playing in DE /SL for about a year. And in that time, I've seen my share of what (to me) seem like original ideas, but sometimes I overhear an old timer say how that was done before (sometimes better sometime worse)

So my question is actually two questions:
(a) Doing things in a way you haven't seen them before - is that important? Or can you go through your DE life always sneaking up behind a woman with a chloroform soaked cloth?
(b) Is an idea still new, if all you do is just put a spin on it?

And then I'll follow that up with another question:
Is the quality of the RP more important than the quality of the idea?
