I've already cleared this with Nadir, but I'm happy to throw it open for suggestions and see what the community can contribute.

The idea is that Fight Club is an underground organisation that draws people together at secret, ever changing, locations to get down and dirty with each other. I absolutely love love RP fights and these will be either totally or 90% RP.

I think this has great possibilites for opening up RP. The cops can try and shut us down, the ones that arent there fighting in disguise that is, people will have greater movement between factions and groups - well the possibiliites are just endless. The other great advantage to fights are that they indirectly teach great rp skills. You have to consider the omoves of the other player very carefully as well as your own.

Logisitically there are some issues to work out. Do we use a dice that rolls to decided whether you take a hit or a miss a punch? This is a great idea for taking the godmodder out of the equation and also for levelling the RP skills gap, but it does and will detract from RP.

Malice Exonar has written an incredibly thorough, I mean really thorough, guide to RP fighting that if all things are equal and people are fair should be enough to keep experienced players on track. It does work great, I'm getting better all the time. But it does rely on people leaving their egos at home and just enjoying the RP for the RP rather than being determined to win.

So whats the best way to handle this? Mal suggested a league, with experienced RP'ers and fighters working without a dice and newer players or not so confident players working with one. It's a solution but I'm not sure that creating an 'elite' league sits comfortably on my socialist shoulders.

Deets suggested some kind of moderation in the case of disputes.

The definite's are that this group will come with explanatory nc's and rules explaining fight etiquette. I'm throwing it open for positive suggestions. I'll be clear up front and say that this is happening whether you like the idea of fighting or not. The best I can say to the naysayers is, it's a club, if it's not your thing then don't join. I'm looking for ideas that will ensure it's good rp for everyone and a positive addition to DE.
