First of all, to prevent misunderstandings...this post is only to satisfy my curiousity.....not lecturing or criticising the RP in Deadend...English isn't my 1st language, so I might use words which can be seen as offensive, if it does it is the lack of finding a proper way to express myself...

Before I joined SL about a year ago, I have played ( and still do sometimes ) in several online Role-Playing games, think about Lord of The Rings Online, Age of Conan, etc.
When I came into DE for the first time, I just walked around town, feeling the atmosphere, listening to the RP and I was really surprised, the RP-ers here emote their thoughts!
Well, of course I am used to it now, and I find myself doing it once in a while too...but it still feels strange, if I would do that in the online games I mentioned before, RP-ers would jump one me and tell me not to emote my thoughts, it is impossible for other RP-ers to know what my AV is thinking.....I would have been told to stop metagaming......
Yes, I hear you, how do you let others know what you intentions are without 'talking'.......If I want another player to know what I expect from her ( or him, but men are inferior to women, so I use 'her' ) I would send an IM....
For me RP is a ....no let me say it in a different way, although she is just a bunch of pixesl on my screen, I RP Ming as a person who could very well exist in Rl ( thank god she doesn't ), so I don't give her any telepathic abilities, and I know, I can ignore such emotes, but I just want to know how other RP-ers feel about this...I am curious, maybe I can learn something from your replies.....
