Editing posts in forum doesnt delete the edited post

For quite some time now I have noticed that posts, when edited still appear on the main Community page. If I post a reply or a new one and I edit it, I click on the community link in the top right corner of the page and I see the original post AND the second one. If I edit it again, the last (edited) one appears above the two other and so on. It's a minor thing but it does clutter the page, maybe the forum staff could look into this?
