Dead End Metro Police Department
General Department Guide

Purpose: To streamline an effective set of guidelines, rules and expectations that all members of the DEPD are expected to adhere by.

➤General Conduct Expectations - All Members

➚All members are to maintain an appropriate level of grooming while on duty.
➚All members must establish consent before engaging others in roleplay unless the roleplay occurs in a public place
➚All members are to play their role fairly without being abusing the role itself.
➚All members are not permitted to be a member of the any Dead End Gang/Criminal Organization while part of the DEPD.
➚All members are to wear their appropriate group tag while on duty.
➚All members will adhere to sim rules without exception.

➤DEPD & Corruption

It is important to remember that even though Dead End is a poor city, Officers who are constantly making the department look bad or otherwise drawing un-needed public attention to the department may find themselves on the other side of the law. Using some level of tact when dealing with the public is recommended. This said dont get your face in the news paper beating a suspects teeth out after the surrendered to you, or when your trying to get bribed for your.. /favors./

➚Corruption

The DEPD is filled with various degrees of corruption. From extortion, bribery, planting evidence, excessive force, etc.
This means you are allowed to play a bad cop. But keep it within limits and respect peoples limits. THIS IS NOT NEGOTABLE your not a thug with a badge and can void any sim rules.
How you choose to play your character is up to you and at what level of corruption they find themselves involved in is limitless. With that being said, there is a certain level of process that is involved with corruption. Generally speaking, Rookie Officers are new to the force and for the most part are still under the impression that they are going to do some good for the community Senior Officers may find themselves slipping into corruption as they have come to accept that nothing they can do will ever change the city.

Corruption is a tool as well, Officers who are exposed to corruption from their superiors will learn the ropes and have the potential to carve a name of infamy in the city. But there will always be those Officers who fight to do what is right, make the arrests and get almost none of the credit but accept that it is the right thing to do.

➚Investigating other Officers

No member of the DEPD is authorized to conduct an internal investigation on another officer. Only the Captain or Command Personnel may authorize any type of internal review or investigation.

Sergeants or above will be responsible for the management of corrupt officers who are negatively affecting the department.

➚Bribes corruption outside the DEPD
Officers have the option to work together with Gangs as bribes and share drugs, weapons and other illigal items. Skim friends off easier but remember once a Officer, always a Officer, You cant be a gang member and a DEPD cop. Loyalty always comes to the DEPD first. Then to your /bribe/

➚Cover other Officers.
When you see a officer busy with someone and he or she isnt fully doing something legal. Do back up your fellow partner on the street. We need unity. This means if an Officer is shacking down a gang member for information. You make sure his back is covered. Assist if needed in removal of evidence.

➚Rape.
Rape within the DEPD HQ is a given. It happens and it is allowed. But be smart regarding your sexual pleasures. There are officers that have a stance against it and will stop you. So dont be stupid. Take it to the showers or the interrigation room. Lock the doors and make sure to ask a CCTV accessable Police officer to remove the evidence. Clean up your innmate for any sperm or other love juices you might leave. ((AND MOST OF ALL RESPECT PEOPLES OOC LIMITS!))

➚ DEPD Cookie Jar.
The DEPD gets a very small budget from the state to keep there HQ going. Within this the PD needs to be smart with how they get there money in. Its allowed for officers to skim about 10% to 15 % off Citations from criminals. To write Citations and charge more as legal fees when people pay them. Were suppose to be evil. Mean and we want our gear to be the best in the world. Then we need to get money. This is our way. ((Things the DEPD finaceese from this jar, Partys, Tazer cartiages, replacements of body armour, Duty vehicles. Damages to the HQ etc.))

➚ Weapons, Drugs and other illigal items confiscated.
While on duty you will notice that everyone is armed with some kind of weapon, drug or other object. While we citate people for these weapons we also take these into our possession. Right now with DE's drug market and weapon market on its arse an Officer can make some nice change by selling a few items they confiscated. Keep in mind if its not processed into booking and the evidence. The officer can use it to sell. So this means take that kilo cocaine from the gang and sell it to there rivals.

➚ Evidence lock up.
This place is only accessable by Sergeant, CSU members and above. This means once the evidence is in lock up, DNA , Drugs, Weapons, Clothing etc. A normal police officer wont get access to it. You can however try to roleplay lock picking the locks. Or bribing the Sergeants to get inside here. But if the Captains find out you are fucking with there evidence. For what reason ever. Be ready to be punished and fired if it happens. But if you can get away with it. The rewards might be very well worth it!

➤General Features of the Station

➚The DEPD Station is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Even when a player is not there, there is an expectations that NPC Officers and civilian staff are in the station.

➚CCTV systems are located throughout the station and outside the station (this includes the DEPD parking lot) The only exception to the location of CCTV is in personnel offices (Captains Office) and changing facilities (lockers/showers/etc). CCTV may not be turned off at any time, the only personnel with access to CCTV systems are Detectives/CSU and above.

➚Holding cells are secured at all times. No inmate may attempt to break out of the jail without roleplaying with an actual DEPD Officer and having gotten prior approval from group leadership. Anytime attempt to break out otherwise is considered power-gaming. Lock picking is not possible and there are no keys, the cell doors are locked with an electronic lock.
