Please submit an abuse report through the help section of the site so admins can assess the situation and the folks involved; that’s definitely not the type of attitude we want on our sim. Jail RP, in my opinion, has always been for serious writers who are committed to seeing a solid story through. If you can’t afford your character to be jailed a few days longer for serious crimes like assaulting an officer, domestic terrorism, murder, etc., then you’re better off not involving the police and everyone else in a story.…[Read more]
Not really. I mean, the way I see it is … Gotham City and New York City are in the same DC ‘universe’ … but clearly, the cities have much different visual styles. Just think of it that way.
At the end of the day, both are modern day.
Couple of things to keep in mind for both cops and criminals:
Jailtime has always been optional; if you don’t do the time, you just won’t get the cred for it.
The times went up because they are the same for the ones used in CD – I don’t want to maintain two different databases for similar role-play features.

For bail, the assumption is there is an NPC bail bondsman involved in the process somewhere, but I didn’t detail it out to avoid confusion. I also wanted to add that with a flatter structure, I’m considering building into the roster the ability for sergeants to create/remove task forces to address trends of criminal activity and/or story arcs. Just another flexible way to incentivize folks to stay active in the force.
As I’m thinking through the new features on the police HUD and the overall DE criminal/legal landscape, one of my goals is to simplify the structure of the DEPD to promote stories rather than issuing tickets or attempting to climb ranks. Here is what I’m proposing:

The new HUD I’m designing for the DEPD will include random hints for rookies and all officers. Help me out by submitting single sentences that would be good facts/tips for them!
I plan on designing a city council that will take over the role of “story weaver” … it would be an IC/OOC responsibility. I’ll work the details out and publish them soon.
