Hey there!

So I saw there's a shop up for rent that would be suitable to turn into a free/low-income outpatient clinic. Before I rent it and make the official proposal, I wanted to gauge interest.

I've had folks come into the MH requesting prescription refills, and other medical visits that wouldn't normally happen at a hospital (routine PCP visit, non-emergent issues). We also often discharge people with instructions to follow up with their regular doctor for wound care, etc.

I was thinking an outpatient clinic could fill that niche. It could also be a place for health screening, needle exchanges, chronic illness management (diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, nutrition, asthma), wound care.

I could see volunteers from the MH staff taking turns rotating through the clinic, and of course any docs/nurses who wanted to work there full time would be amazing.

I was also thinking of designating one part of the build as an outpatient pharmacy.

Thoughts? Recommendations? Ideas?

Cheers,
-M (aka Amelie Jeunet)
