No really, where is it? A long time ago i'd thought it was established that it wasn't in the US, or any other known country for that matter. But recently I've had people tell me it IS in the US, just no where we'ver ever heard of.
I think it would help to have a more detailed setting for Deadend. Is it on an island? Where do those buses come from that bring all the stranded college girls?

I think having a few more details fleshed out would help a lot of RP's. Like a basic judicial theory, are we still "innocent until proven guilty" here? I could deal with DE being like it's own little city-state, with a really tough customs agency that prevents people from leaving. It could also explain why there aren't any guns in DE.

I guess my main peeve is I have a hard time dealing with a city that lives in a vacuum, with people just randomly dropping in. It makes it hard to come up with a background you can't be sure of where you're from or most importantly how you got here and why you can't just leave on the next bus.
