As a cop and a gang member, ive frequently been involved in 911 situations. I think that the current system needs a bit of an overhaul both in terms of some official rules on matters, and also how people play within the current rules. These changes will have the effect of making interactions with the police more fair and more fun for the non police members of a scene. Currently, officers are coming onto scenes too quickly, and it impacts everyone's enjoyment of the scene as well as creating some ooc problems when there's fights about how long it should take for officers to arrive.

Many times, as an officer, i've arrived on scene 10 minutes (rl) after a call, only to find that an entire round of posting hasn't elapsed within the scene. Its been as if i materialized instantly after 911 called, from the perspective of the people within the scene. obviously, even with waiting till the end of the posting order to enter... this creates some serious issues.

A round of posts should be taking, icly, about what? 10-15 seconds? that means that the dead end cop response time is somewhere around 7 seconds on average. that's not very realistic, or fun for the people in the brawl or doing the kidnapping or whatever. it sort of creates a world where if any cop is on, everyone is essentially a few seconds from a police officer at any time.

In order to rectify these problems, i am suggesting a minimum of four posting rounds before officers can enter a scene, from the point that the 911 operator informs the caller that officers are being dispatched. This, icly, is still a response time of 40 seconds to a minute. Any department in america would be overjoyed to have such a response time, and it gives everyone in the scene time to get in a few licks, OR see that 911 is being called and to extricate themselves from the scene. This gives everyone a chance to actually let their scene develop and have some fun before the cops arrive.

On the ooc front, i've seen some troubling things ill bring up in another post, so as to not mingle the issues.
