Come May 21st Dead End will have a new County Commissioner.

After several well televised, high spirited adverts from both candidates they met face to face for the first time this evening in Dead Fall For a debate. The pair; An elderly dispatcher known only as Hank and a  small business owner, Kahlen Vaniva were polite to each other and exchanged pleasantries before the debate began.

The questions, compiled by the citizens of Dead End were insightful and intelligent and the candidates gave them the consideration and seriousness they deserved.  When asked “What are you going to do about the massive amount of violence that have started to plague the county?”  Hank the Dispatcher replied  ” “The answer is in the police force.. they need to be better trained to take care of this plague this nonstop running of violent freaks who are only out there because they have nothing else… get em jobs. put them in porn.. give these people things to do… Get rid of the drugs… but that goes back to the cops.. They need to be trained to deal with this stuff..”  Much to the chagrin of the very people the candidate works beside daily.

Our other candidate, Kahlen “Kay” Vaniva, proprietor of the Red Herring seemed to fair a bit better in response to the question “ With the addition of the asylum the health care in Dead End county hasn’t gotten any better, how will you improve this?”.  Her answer ”  ” Well out hospital has and is looking better now that Dr Jack Daker has been made Chief of Medicine. He’s working hard to improve things.. Very hard. Our problem currently is the short supply of medical personnel. To that end I suggest we work with our neighboring communities to do a Dr swap. Once the physicians are here I have faith that the people of our fair County will be all that it takes to get them to stay. Also I suggest we start offering training classes in the hospital lounge so that we have many more available first responders for emergency calls. ” was well received and even earned her cheers from the First Responders in attendance.

The voting for Dead End’s Newest County Commissioner is to take place both Saturday and Sunday with the winner announced Monday morning.  Your vote counts Dead Enders, show your support for your candidate.

During the ensuing brawl, an unknown party is reported to have brutally beaten Snow with a pipe. Word suggests that the Captain is still in the hospital from the ordeal. Lieutenant Manx and Sergeant Yheng were also admitted to the DEMH for injuries sustained, though they were discharged the same evening (sources say). It is believed that the Captain is in stable condition, but the extent of the injuries were not given

to the press.

The DEPD have released the following description of this killer:

Believed to be tall, over six feet and often wears sunglasses. He is believed to go by the name “Don” but that is uncertain. He has red hair. If you see this man you should assume that he is armed and dangerous and do NOT approach him.

Their specialty is erotic tattoos and piercings, but they aren’t limited to that kind of art. Occasionally, they have contests for the artists: Who can deliver the best tattoo while being orally pleased. This place is perfect for those who want to be around the filth of the Red Light District, but don’t have characters that will necessarily wallow in it.

Massage Parlor
This business had the ability to be named by the lead who is chosen to run it. It can be used how they like, but it’s clear this is no fancy spa.

The Dark Room:
This is a club with a plan so those who want run will need to read this. It’s an erotic club, where voyeurism and bdsm type play run rampant. From above, patrons can lounge and mingle with their drinks while looking below at what is going on at the exhibition stage, which is open for any and all to publicly display their ‘affection’ . The club’s other attraction is its maze for patrons to play hide and seek. Once they enter, they give permission for anyone to touch them beyond that wall. Behind the scenes the club deals with all manners of exploitation, including using the broken spirits that the new sim run faction brings in as toys for their patrons’ pleasure.

Dick’s Halfway Inn
The motel is back and ready to be used. The name was chosen via polls in the forum, so great job on picking such a catchy name! Many have displayed interest in running it to help house criminal activity so we have finally made that possible.

Self-run businesses in Dead Fall:
You’ll find these soon to be set up in Dead Fall and while your character can use them as they please – they will not be a managed group unless we see long term traffic. Some of these are just walk-up businesses and some you can actually venture inside and enjoy the props and privacy offered inside.

There are also a few rentable businesses in the Red Light district and one that is located in the skyrises between the new penthouses that will be set up. The same rules for the Dead End rented businesses apply to these.

They were promised total paradise.  They were promised equality.  They were promised a society that would not judge them based on their ages, races or genders.  They were promised utopia.  All they had to do was to follow him.  And they did.  He was the light.   He was the benevolent father that possessed untold wisdom.  He provided all the answers to the lost who constantly struggled in a cold and meaningless world.  He accepted their children and promised to give them a beautiful start in a culture that eschewed avarice.  It was 1977 and the world was in transit.  Vietnam and the Civil Rights and Women’s Equality movements had all nearly ended in the United State.  The oil crisis was over, and inflation had just begun to level off.  Cold War countries were trying to form alliances to avoid nuclear war, causing the Red Scare hysteria of the 50’s and 60’s to die down considerably.  By this time people had either not enough or too much to believe in.   Many searched for answers and for a handful of San Franciscans one man had solutions to ease their First World malaise.    They purchased a tract of land in a small South American country, he encouraged his followers to leave the United States behind and by 1978 the population had ballooned to well over 900 adherents.   By autumn of that year, 918 had died, most of them willingly, in the largest loss of American life by non-natural means in the 20^th century.   The so called “reverend” Jim Jones was able to manipulate the minds of the people of his “Jonestown” so completely most of them willing accepted their deaths.  The People’s Temple was one of the most infamous cults in existence, but there is no shortage of these dangerous groups ready to take you into their blissfully mindless masses.   Heaven’s Gate, Aum Shinrikyo, and Order of the Solar Temple are also notorious.   They other similar groups all promise the same thing:  purpose.  They prey on the weak and curious offering solutions to problems that may or may not have existed.  They use sinister methodology to change you psychologically.  Some may only regard their members as nothing but chattel for profit be it monetary or even more ominous; medical experiments and eugenics.  Some cults are religious in nature; others purport self help and pseudo existential solutions to suffering and want.  The packaging may be different, but what is inside is almost always, the same.

This reporter, humbly, approaches you with a warning.  In my career as a Clinical Psychologist I have studied cults, cultish activities and cult methodology and I wish to offer you a short list of characteristics to watch out for when or if you are approached by a cult.

1. Offers of a “personality” or “emotional health” test which you will invariably fail.  Luckily they will be able to provide the aid for self perceived deficiencies.
2. Enthusiastic and overtly friendly members.  This method is used to exaggerate the supposed effects of their offers, an example of true altruistic joy and care for all.
3. Takes up much of your free time.  This ensures that they encompass much of your life in their goal to separate you from your friends and family.
4. Spurious texts.  Self help books or other “holy” documents that are quoted and recited with zeal.
5. Telling you that everyone else is either lost or evil.  This is done to further alienate you.

In my next article, I will cover the different methods they use to take you from yourself.  Beware, citizens, young and idealistic minds are prime for the taking.  Being rational and logical may just well save you and your personal freedom.

In what is becoming a very disturbing series of attacks, the “Repo Man” killer attacked yet another person this evening out in Dead Fall. The victim was reportedly a man by the name of “Sam” who called for assistance after the man described as the “Repo Man” attacked him.

Not much is known about this killer that stalks the streets and police could not be reached for commentary. All this reporter could dig up was that the “Repo Man” reportedly is tall and wears sunglasses. He also has short hair, but no one seems to know the color.

Will the police catch this vicious killer that was responsible for the murder in the Easy Eight’s pool hall recently? Who knows, but right now all we know is that everyone in Dead End is in danger.

What started out as a normal night at the new club that recently opened in Dead End’s Red-light district, located in the Dead Fall borough of the city, ended tragically for one, and just strange to others.

It started getting odd when a large man covered in tattoos with a Mohawk and a black haired woman, also covered in tattoos and stripped down to her panties were both seen on the dance floor. According to reports from staff and pedestrians another man tried to get in on the action and was beaten by both the woman and the man.

Following an altercation with a bouncer working at the club that night, the second man got his finger cut off by his own knife, according to the reports filed by the staff. Although witness account’s vary. His finger was not located at the scene.

The two tattooed people where then seen leaving the club. After the woman supposedly bit the man’s face, blood was seen but it is not sure what exactly happened between the couple. The tattooed man was then seen handing large amounts of money to the bouncer and barkeep before he left the building.
